Platelets are Love

A friend of the Jologs (Denden, a classmate of ours from college) is doing a fundraiser for her nephew, the event is called Platelets are Love. Everyone is invited to attend this good cause. It's on June 3 (Wednesday) 9pm at Mag:Net Highstreet (at the Fort).

This is the type of events where we should waste our time (and money) on. We can help while enjoying good music.

Happy Thursday everyone, hope to see you next week on this event. Please pray for the recovery of Denden's nephew Angelo :). Thanks!

RJA at ATC

I really appreciate what Ayala Mall does in helping cultivate (naks) the music appreciation of the Filipinos especially the young generation. They bring bands and other artists to do a series of shows and music fanatics like me can watch them for free.

Later today my friend Zie and I will head to ATC to catch The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus live. It seems like all the bands that we wished we could see perform live are one by one coming and doing shows here in our country. Next on our list – Craig David.

For more RJA experience visit their MySpace site here and enjoy. Later!

PS: one 2 words for RJA after I saw them perform: BEYOND AMAZING!!! (written March 6, 2009)

Lifehouse Concert

Videos from the Lifehouse concert last Saturday (July 26), our seats were really great. I had lots of fun with Zie, Luchie & Sophie (o di ba lahat sila ending in ie - so? wala lang hehehe).

As always my, recorded videos are not that clear. Di bale, the band naman was really good.

Work, Concerts, Batman and other Disasters

I was reading an old email from a friend circa 2004, we mentioned there na nakakabobo ang magtrabaho. Well mas nakakabobo ang walang trabaho. I’m experiencing that lately. I am doing nothing here in the office, ang dame kong petiks na oras. Time of the year when kinda plantsado naman ang lahat. No rush projects, no urgent campaigns.

Di mo tuloy maiwasan ang mag muni muni which is not healthy.

On a brighter side of life… my bestfriend is back and another good thing is that she’ll be able to watch the Lifehouse concert with me and Ziella on Saturday.

Ayos na may isa nang bright sa buhay ko but more on the gloomy part…

Stereophonics is performing in Hong Kong this week and sa Japan din. Why oh why dun lang? Made me think why I was born here in the Philippines, kakainis (I know super shallow but who cares? blog ko to hehehe).

Batman movie (The Dark Knight) is actually good but not great… uber haba (2 hours & 35 minutes) nawawalan tuloy ng gana viewers – not all I guess but I’m counting myself and Ziella plus a few other friends. Okay na sana it’s just that the makers really prolonged it to the extent that even the climatic parts became dragging. Buti na lang Heath Ledger was there with his great performance (and his demise making it more kakakilabot) sige na nga magandang maganda na yung movie. So now those who have watched it already knows who the villain na for the next installment.

Wawa naman Ben2, problematic dame disasters tsk tsk di kase ako sinasama sa plano eh wala tuloy syang taga sapak sa mga nang aaway sa kanya.

We Won!

Congratulations to team "Hook on Cook"! Our guy made it! Buti na lang, I really don't like Archuleta, he's so fake and always looking as if he'll gonna cry and pass out because he received high praises (oops baka awayin ako ng mga maka-Archibaby). Plus the bad publicity against his stage daddy really made a negative impact on his overall chances of winning. But infairness Archuleta has a good voice although he lacks the luster of what a real star is. He's boring and not really taking risks, I feel bored watching his Disney performances (words inspired by the Judge Wannabe Mrs. Cowell, hehehe si Jen).

The difference was by 12 million votes! That's A LOT!

Oh well, I really picked out a good bet this year, dapat nakipag pustahan ako sa mga maka David A. So although my guy DC won, sorry guys walang cheese burger.

It feels like it's Friday already. Times flies and you're not even having fun... oh well a few more hours and weekend here we come!

Happy Thursday guys!

... be my baby

This performance made me rave about it for hours. It was Edwin McCain meets Mariah Carey rendition of “Always Be My Baby”. I was just as naïve as the majority of the people who know that MC song, I never thought there’d be other arrangement of that little teeny, cutesy, flirty song before David sang it in D.Cook style.

As early as today in the competition I already know who my bet is. I’m appealing to the American people (as if they’d care about my plea), please vote for David Cook and hopefully no more surprise elimination like last week.

It led me to thinking, if ever MJ was still in the running, what could have been his MC song?

Say - John Mayer

My boyps is back, with a new single featured on the upcoming movie The Bucket List (will definitely watch out for this tear jerker starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman)

Take out of your wasted honor
Every little past frustration
Take all of your so called problems
Better put them in quotations
Say what you need to say (8x)
Walkin like a one man army
Fightin with the shadows in your head
Living out the same old moment
Knowing you’d be better off instead
If you could only
Say what you need to say (8x)
Have no fear for giving in
Have no fear for getting older
You better know that in the end its better to say to much
Than to never to say what you need to say again
Even if your hands are shaking
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closing
Do it with a heart wide open
Why?
Say what you need to say (20ishx)
the lyrics makes you feel warm inside *sigh* I really heart John (although according to one friend he's just one Dave Matthew copycat I don't care!!!)
PS: Life in Progress comic book now available in National Bookstore, in support of Julius please buy a copy P95.00 lang, pwedeng pangregalo ngayong Pasko ;) - bawal hiraman hehehe

It Means Nothing - Stereophonics

I *heart* this song very much *sigh*
Did we lose ourselves again?
Do we take in what's been said?
Do we take the time to be
All the things we said we'd be
And we bury heads in sand
But my future's in my hands
It means nothing
It means nothing

You can find yourself a God
Believe in which one you want
'Cos they love you all the same
They just go by different names
When we fly our flag today
Are you proud or just ashamed?
It means nothing
It means nothing

It means nothing
It means nothing
It means nothing
[It Means Nothing lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

If I haven't got you
If I haven't got you
If I haven't got you
If I haven't got you

And the sun sets in the sky
You're the apple of my eye
If the bomb goes off again
In my brain or on the train
I hope that I'm with you
'Cos I wouldn't know what to do
It means nothing
It means nothing

It means nothing
It means nothing
It means nothing
If I haven't got you
If I haven't got you
If I haven't got you
If I haven't got you

Music That Feeds The Soul

Pre-concert picture with my sis Dinah. We didn't know what to expect, we were there because we love Switchfoot!!!

The crowd went wild, moshpit guys went gaga when the band started playing. Edge of My Seat would have completed my night but they had a very good set list... all the hits were played and we can't help but be proud that we know the lyrics of even their not so famous songs.

With my own bandmates: Arlene, Jenny, Raymond & Dinah
1. The band... Jon on vocals & lead guitar, Tim on bass, Drew on guitars, Chad on drums and Jerome on synthesizer & all others (hehehe multi-tasking, iba talaga ang pinoy... guitars & tamborine din sya say nyo)... 2. balut challenge, Switchfoot is the first ever foreign band to sucessfully ate Philippines' exotic food - the Balut. They were all really great and honest that they will not try it again hehehe (kahit ako noh ayoko nun) ... 3 & 4. Jerome - proudly Pinoy (slangers nga lang) ... 5 & 6. Jon & his advocacy for justice and for picture takings hehehe.Yes, we were standing this close to Jon Foreman when he run down the stage and gave the public a little information about how great help IJM is doing for the benefit of the Filipinos.

Jon asked everybody to take a picture all at the same time, yes massive flash attack, here's what I got. I guess everyone's picture would have me & my friends at the back of Jon kaya all smiles kame. I saw all of them looking and aiming their cameras at our directions. The flashes can blind you hehehe.Bye Jon, bye Tim, bye Drew, bye Chad and bye Jerome. You guys are great musicians and inspiration to everybody. God bless you for your contribution in making this world a better place. Making lives meant to be lived.

Switchfoot live in Manila

Went with Jenny, Dines, Arlene & Raymond at the Switchfoot concert at Cuneta Astrodome last night. We had great seats and it was really awesome. Unbelievable is the word I chose to describe the experience.

I know this video's quality is not that great, I used my phone so there goes the poor quality hehehe. This is just a teaser, will post pictures & stories hopefully later :)

Recap version 2

I am hooked listening to this girl named Maria Mena. She's been around the music industry for sometime now, young and very talented - adjectives that I could give her. I've been reading her blog and she's crazy hehehe. I listen to her songs for days now and cliche' as it may sound "I can relate". I heard some of her songs years ago but I didn't pay much attention until I contemplated on the message behind the "Sorry" song. The ultimate basted song hehehe. I am yet to be rejected but I am preparing for my comfort goodies for that day (read: the songs I'll listen too when I'm all depressed, lonely and lethargic with patheticism). Try listening to her guys, feel sappy, feel mushy, feel depressed, feel lonely, feel rejected, feel pathetic, feel inlove.

remind me why we decided this was for the best...
because i miss you love...
i know the distance is a factor but i stretch as often as i can.
i hope to reach your hands any day now.
please don't blame me for trying, to fix this one last time.
i have a hard time as it is because i miss you love...
(Miss You Love)
***@@@***
what is the game we're playing?
should i stick around for more?
snap your fingers i'll coming running,
leave again when you're bored with me
i'll make it easy...
nevermind me, nevermind me i'll just cast shadows on your walls
nevermind me, nevermind me, my god i feel so small
nevermind me, nevermind me i'll just cast shadows on your walls
nevermind me, nevermind me i'll just let myself out.
this facade that i'm stuck with has got me wondering
just tell me how you want me and i'll be naked stumbling
just to get a reaction, any signs of love
(Nevermind Me)
***@@@***
just poured my heart out
there's bits of it on the floor
and i take what's left of it and rinse it under cold water
and call him up for more
and i say baby, yes i feel stupid to call you, but i'm lonely
and i don't think you meant it when you said you couldn't love me
and i thought maybe if i kissed the way you do, you'd feel it too
he said i'm sorry
so sorry
i'm sorry
so sorry
(Sorry)

Enjoy the weather my dear friends, for those who hate the rain just like me, sleeping is an option - sweet dreams!
