I happen to hear this song from the movie Penelope (which by the way is one nice and inspiring movie). I downloaded it and happened to come across this video. The song is in Icelandic and I don’t have the slightest idea what it is about but I find hope and solace in this song (whew.. lalim? lame? Hehehe). I guess Sigur Ros is a great band, I was able to read a few comments and information about them - they’re all positive so I guess they’re that good. I’ll download more of their songs (even though they sound pretty alien to me) and will let you know if they’re worth the DLs.

Oh and BTW, I have a new crazy song too!!! And Jenny’s going mad already listening to it while I play it over and over again the whole day… Shake It by Metro Station (2 members of which are Hannah Montana Royalties being brothers of Miley and Mitchel in real life).

Happy weekend everyone… enjoy the rest day, the movies, the good food and don’t forget to greet your Pops a big Happy Father’s Day!

more Laiya pictures

from Rain's camera... kayaking with Ses :)

Pareho kameng walang sense of direction pero nakaalis naman kame from the shore, natuto rin kame :D

Roadtrip to the Beach

We’ve (college friends) been planning a beach trip for the June 7-10 long weekend for more than a month already. The plan was an overnight stay at Laiya, Batangas. There were originally 8 of us who agreed until days before the said outing 3 bailed out. The rest just felt lazy going since not all of us can make it. The most awaited beach trip turned into a dinner for 4. Rain, Zie, Ses and I met up last Saturday for a quiet dinner at Eskimo Bob Bayside MOA. All we talked about was the supposed beach trip that day then an impromptu plan was made. The 4 of us will still go to Batangas for a day trip to the beach the next day. Subic, Tagaytay or Antipolo escapade was even considered… basta makagala sayang ang long weekend. We hit the road past 7 am last Sunday, there were no traffic and aside form a few wrong turns (not one of us knew where we’re going) the trip was really enjoyable. Moises drove while Zie, Rain and I navigate (hehehe). Ang layo pala ng San Juan Batangas, we initially went to La Luz but because it was a spur of the moment outing we didn’t have any reservations. Laiya Coco Grove was the next best thing and it turned out that it was the best thing.

Ses on the Beach (parang drink)

The we ate, they drank, swim, lay on the sand and went kayaking. Ang saya, when it was time to go home the usual road comedies happened. After dropping off Zie, Ses and Rain in Alabang I drove home by myself… yes by myself :D

And ofcourse di pwedeng mawala ang travelling hand ;)

PS: Chuni, sorry :(

Now That's What You Call...

My Pop & I were driving along Commerce Ave in Ayala Alabang this morning when we saw this beauty. I can't help but take pictures of THE CAR. I have to smudge pa the plate number for security reasons. I won't mind owning one hehehe, hay *sigh* wake dreaming... sabi nga ni D. Cook, Dream Big cause if you don't dream big what's the use of dreaming? Plugging pa ng single, sorry eh I so love the guy hehehe.

Happy Wednesday people!

A Dutch in Villa Escudero

A colleague of ours from the Netherlands office visited Manila last Friday and Saturday. To let him experience a taste of the Manila night life we took him to Hard Rock cafĂ© for dinner and to watch Side A. He was impressed (we were too!) by Side A’s performance. The next day we took him to Villa Escudero for a glimpse of the Filipino culture. Here are some pictures:
Paper mache at Villa Escudero - a young boy feeding the mother & young pigs

Auke with boss Winnie, Auke enjoyed his Filipino lunch

Jenny at the Falls - parang Niagara noh?

Si Islaw, yan ang ride namin

On our way back to the metro we showed him the 3rd biggest mall in the world - SM Mall of Asia, and he was just very lucky because we were able to watch the last day of the World Pyro Olympics. It amazing and really spectacular! Last year I was able to witness this event too but this year we had nice seats at Eskimo Bob and we were watching it while dining.

Here are some videos taken from last Friday’s fireworks display:

Nice noh?

Will try to upload more videos soon. June na, in 29 days it's the mid year already. 2009 na in 6 months... I'll be in my late 20s and what else? Let the countdown begin ;) Happy Monday!
