Barney's Bride

picture from the web

It’s been a while, I know.  I just want to drop a little note before I see the full episode where we’ll all find out (here in the Phils.) who ends up with who in HIMYM.  I know it was my girl Robin but everyone is still rooting for the Ted-Robin Tandem.  And of course Lily & Marshall’s bet is still on.  Ted will meet the kids’ mother on  Barney’s wedding but it doesn’t necessarily mean that she’ll be the love of Ted’s life because that spot was already filled, am I right?  Oh yes I know I’m right.

PS: Cobie looks so cool in Avengers but my mind can't help but anticipate in what scene will the rest of the HIMYM pop out?  I'm such a fan I know.  Catch the 1 hour special of the HIMYM season finale tonight at 8 on 2nd Ave. (This is not a paid plug).

Happy weekend boys & girls!

still can't get over...

Years gone by, I am totally over the PH craze. But because of just 1 lonely & lazy evening… I stumbled upon the DVD and PAK! I am drifted back to being just a 20 something person again, depressed and crying over Prince Gian.

ah, to be young and inlove, I will hug my bear named Prince Gian tonight

Jamar auditioned, but where is he?

Jamar made it but where is he? He's not on the official AI9 contestants who made it to Hollywood. I smell something fishy... Watch his interview at 01:52 till the video's end...

Pinoy Talaga

There's a new Korean craze storming the Philippines... kids, teens & the not so young especially girls are going gaga over the Korean F4. And by writing about it here there is no denying that I like the show too (not as much as I like Princess Hours, Dalja's Spring and Coffee Prince hehehe). I finished the whole DVD last night and while watching the end credits I can't help but laugh... kaya naman pala maganda pagkakatranslate, mga pinoy gumawa... here's the reason why I confirmed that the piracy was 100% (or maybe in collaboration with their Korean friends?) done by Filipinos:see what I mean? there are a lot of funny subtitles in Tagalog

I won't give any spoiler because we all know what's gonna happen it was just pretty much the same with Hana Yori Dango 1 & 2... Meteor Garden is very different although it was based on the same manga. Yaman na ng writer nito, di ako magugulat kung magkakaron ng Tagalog version.

Happy Thursday everyone!

AI 2009 Top 3

My prediction (as always) is correct, the AI top 3 for this season will all be male.

Should I say "Congratulations Adam" already? Hmmm, too soon...

AI Updates & my (unsolicited, so what?) Opinion

I think Michael Castro’s theory about the judge’s favorites being asked to sing last on each performance night for audience recall can be true. You can read MC’s post here.

Come to think of it, Danny, Adam and Lil all sang last on each group night and you can also feel that the judges likes them (a lot, especially Danny Drama este Gokey).

I am just glad that I’ll get to see Anoop to sing again, not just tonight but on the following weeks to come, I can feel that he’ll be top 5 and up. AI is also trying (very hard) to spice things up this season – a new judge, lots of drama, non-stop bickering of Ryan and Simon and then now read this: TOP 13! I know I haven’t been doing much except surf the web today, blog and talk about chismaxes.

For now I am just gonna enjoy watching performances but I’m excited for next year. Can’t wait to see Jamar audition and WIN season 9 (hehehe I have the gift of prophecy).

We Won!

Congratulations to team "Hook on Cook"! Our guy made it! Buti na lang, I really don't like Archuleta, he's so fake and always looking as if he'll gonna cry and pass out because he received high praises (oops baka awayin ako ng mga maka-Archibaby). Plus the bad publicity against his stage daddy really made a negative impact on his overall chances of winning. But infairness Archuleta has a good voice although he lacks the luster of what a real star is. He's boring and not really taking risks, I feel bored watching his Disney performances (words inspired by the Judge Wannabe Mrs. Cowell, hehehe si Jen).

The difference was by 12 million votes! That's A LOT!

Oh well, I really picked out a good bet this year, dapat nakipag pustahan ako sa mga maka David A. So although my guy DC won, sorry guys walang cheese burger.

It feels like it's Friday already. Times flies and you're not even having fun... oh well a few more hours and weekend here we come!

Happy Thursday guys!

... be my baby

This performance made me rave about it for hours. It was Edwin McCain meets Mariah Carey rendition of “Always Be My Baby”. I was just as naïve as the majority of the people who know that MC song, I never thought there’d be other arrangement of that little teeny, cutesy, flirty song before David sang it in D.Cook style.

As early as today in the competition I already know who my bet is. I’m appealing to the American people (as if they’d care about my plea), please vote for David Cook and hopefully no more surprise elimination like last week.

It led me to thinking, if ever MJ was still in the running, what could have been his MC song?

Guess I'm Pinoy Afterall

I just found out that I love being a Filipino (hehehe). I am Joan who would bet on PacMan’s opponent rather than him. I am Joan who would rather watch foreign movies instead of some crappy & jologs Pinoy film. I am Joan who’ll eat a lot of international cuisine & would rave for hours about this & that dish which is not Filipino. Sad to say but I am really not very patriotic & devoted to the Philippines.

I remembered mentioning before that I am just a boarder of this country. With all the scam & controversy in all aspect of this country (government, showbiz & even lives of people I know & are non-celebs) I really don’t want to be called a Filipino but behold, I felt bad that Marc & Rovilson didn’t win TARA2 even though my bet was really Adrian & Colin. When Marc & Rovilson ran towards the final pit stop holding the Philippine flag I felt proud.

I guess deep inside me I am still a loyal & very proud to be Pinoy that I don’t want to leave the country even though I’ve been urged to go abroad, read Kuya Berns – don’t feel bad I still would want to go to FL. And yes oh yes, I want Ramiele Malubay to win AI7.

Now, congratulations boys (Magnum PI team), and as Allan said your team is overall the best team, no team ever accomplished the success (& prizes) you both received.

Yey to Adrian & Colin!!!

I felt sad that TARA2 is now over – no more Thursday nights to look forward to. I just hope AI7 can give me the same excitement & anticipation I felt for TARA2.

Good thing I discovered KBS at least my nights will never be lonely, for now.

Oh life, how am I supposed to live without my TV (& cable although there are times I get mad when nothing good is on)?

I’ll be half dead that’s for sure.

Happy weekend everybody & I hope you all had a nice vday (I can’t even write the whole word – I get sick & bitter hehehe).

And lastly for the record, I am proud to be Pinoy - a recent self-discovery I must admit but not just because of what I see on TV (ayan lumalabas talaga pagkashallow ko no matter what). Yes I am a proud Pinoy. Let's all go to Makati for the rally (hahaha I am just kidding).

God bless the Philippines!!!

Life in OR... An Expectator's Point of View

I was in the mood for sappy and chaotic hospital life last night so I set the DVD to a season 3 marathon of Grey’s Anatomy. I came across this great song from Travis used on episode 13 (Six Days part 1) here’s the video courtesy of youtube:

If I told you a secret
You won't tell a soul
Will you hold it and keep it alive
Cause it's burning a hole
And I can't get to sleep
And I can't live alone in this lie

So look up
Take it away
Don't look da-da-da- down the mountain

If the world isn't turning
Your heart won't return
Anyone, anything, anyhow

So take me don't leave me
Take me don't leave me
Baby, love will come through it's just waiting for you

Well I stand at the crossroads
Of highroads and lowroads
And I got a feeling its right

If it's real what I'm feeling
There's no make believing
The sound of the wings of the flight of a dove

Take it away
Don't look da-da-da down the mountain
If the world isn't turning
Your heart won't return anyone anything anyhow...

So take me don't leave me
Take me don't leave me
Baby, love will come through it's just waiting for you

So look up
Take it away
Don't look da-da-da- down

If the world isn't turning
Your heart won't return anyone anything anyhow...

So take me don't leave me
Take me don't leave me
Baby, love will come through it's just waiting for you

Love will come through
Love will come through
Love will come through

So while I am in my Grey’s Anatomy good mood I am posting here some of the marvelous lines from season 3 that made me ponder and think about my own life a little (alright it’s a lie, I rationalized on every line big time).

(Meredith) At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. It's like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And it's not so important happy ever after, just that it’s happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you, and once in a while people may even take your breath away.

(Meredith) Maybe we're not supposed to be happy. Maybe gratitude has nothing to do with joy. Maybe being grateful means recognizing what you have for what it is. Appreciating small victories. Admiring the struggle it takes simply to be human. Maybe we're thankful for the familiar things we know. And maybe we're thankful for the things we'll never know. At the end of the day, the fact that we have the courage to still be standing is reason enough to celebrate.

(Meredith) Change, we don’t like it, we fear it, but we can't stop it from coming. We either adapt to change or we get left behind. And it hurts to grow, anybody who tells you it doesn’t is lying. But here’s the truth: the more things change, the more they stay the same. And sometimes, oh, sometimes change is good. Oh, sometimes, change is ... everything.

(Preston) Cristina, I could promise to hold you, and to cherish you. I could promise to be there, in sickness and in health. I could say till death do us part. But I won't. Those vows are for optimistic couples, the ones full of hope. I do not stand here on my wedding day optimistic or full of hope. I am not optimistic. I am not hopeful. I am sure. I am steady. I'm a heart man. Take 'em apart, put 'em back together, hold them in my hands. I am a heart man. So this, I am sure. You are my partner. My lover. My very best friend. My heart. My heart beats for you. And on this day, the day of our wedding, I promise you this. I promise you to lay my heart in the palm of your hands, I promise you... me.

(Izzie) I am an optimist. I am a fool. I am not sure. Because I'm your best friend, because I love you, if what you want is to be with Callie then I will do everything in my power to support you and help you make your marriage work. But because I'm your best friend, because I love you, I also have to say... that I'm in love with you. I'm in love with you. I can't promise a future, I can't promise perfection, because we're us, I'm me and you're you. No one knows what will happen. But in my heart, I am sure. I'm in love with you George. And I hope you're in love with me too.

CRISTINA: "What am I supposed to say? 'I swear to love and cherish you every moment of everyday of my life?' I mean, that's not real. I mean, that's not how it works, right?"
CALLIE: "It does, at first, but then it..."

MEREDITH: "It passes."

IZZIE: "No it doesn't. You guys are just used to it, that's all. You already have it, you have that thing everybody else wants. You can take it for granted, but let me tell you, if you didn't - if you couldn't be with the person that you love, I guarantee that hearing him promise you, love you and honor you and cherish you, no matter what, it would be pretty much all you could think about."

CRISTINA: "Wait, can you say that again? Just slowly."

MEREDITH: "You're talking about Denny, right?

IZZIE: "Right."

(Meredith) What's worse, new wounds which are so horribly painful or old wounds that should've healed years ago and never did? Maybe our old wounds teach us something. They remind us where we've been and what we've overcome. They teach us lessons about what to avoid in the future. That's what we like to think. But that's not the way it is, is it? Some things we just have to learn over and over and over again.

(Meredith) We all think we’re going to be great and we feel a little bit robbed when our expectations aren’t met. But sometimes expectations sell us short. Sometimes the expected simply pales in comparison to the unexpected. You got to wonder why we cling to our expectations, because the expected is just what keeps us steady. Standing. Still, the expected is just the beginning, the unexpected is what changes our lives

(George) Everytime I look at you... I feel better. It shocks me. It knocks my wind out, but it's true. I don't have to have sex with you, I'd be happy just look at you from across the room. Even that, anything, any piece of you. And, hopefully, all of you... that'd be the best thing. Because I love you…
